The sudden disappearance of your boyfriend could be something shocking. But if you try to view this as a time for both of you to reassess your feelings for each other, then you would even welcome the idea of being away from the guy. So what should you do while he's on an unexpected vacation?
First, don't judge him.
Don't immediately transform into the drama queen! You should be calm about this whole concept so that you could think outside of the box. What made him think of leaving for a few days? Was there something that you did that displeased him? This is the perfect time to analyze yourself.
Ask his friends where he'd gone.
But - please - don't appear too desperate in the process. As nonchalantly as you could, try to ask his friends where he could have gone. If your guy wants to be found, his friends will definitely know where he is. If not, then they would either be hiding the truth from you or they simply don't know where he is.
Don't think that it's the end of the world.
You would only go mad if you start worrying too much. Thinking that he's already in the arms of another woman would only make things worse. Be patient and try to think what would have made him take a sudden time off.
While he's away...
...you might as well spend some time with your best friends. Dine out, watch a movie, stroll in the mall - do whatever it takes to take your mind off your problem. You would be better laughing off the days than to spend them crying in your bed.
Act cold once he returns.
He actually deserves this, and why you might ask? It's because he left off without a single word as to his whereabouts! Don't nag or bawl, just give him the silent treatment. This should make him realize that you're not pleased with what he did yet you're still mature enough to hold your raging emotions.
Tell him it's okay.
Right after this guy apologizes, tell him that it's alright to go on a time off sometimes but he has to at least tell you when he's going, never mind the where aspect, just the when. Tell him that you even welcome the idea of having some space every once in a while.
Let him know the basic rule...
... and that is the fact that you can't tolerate being lied to or that a secret is kept from you. Gently tell him that he's welcome to go on a time off but he should at least be decent enough to not disappear the next time.
